Dana Portnoy

Dana was a native Las Vegan who started it all with acrylic installation. He was an OG when it came to acrylic design, installation, refurbishment, and leak repair. Since 1988, Dana pioneered methods that are standard protocol today.

His work on iconic projects—like the tank where Keiko lived in Mexico City and the purpose-built facility at the Oregon Coast Aquarium—demonstrated his commitment to solving the industry’s most challenging problems with precision and care.

Dana passed away on Memorial Day 2024, leaving a legacy of nearly four decades in the industry. His three surviving children and five grandchildren miss “Pops” and his zest for living life large. The team at Portnoy’s Premier continues his tradition of excellence, expertise, and sense of fun.

Dana’s legacy lives on in every installation we complete.
